Expanding Awareness & Engagement via Google Ads Grant

San Antonio Sports is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform the community through the power of sport. They had been using their Google Grant, a program that provides eligible nonprofits with up to $10,000 per month in free advertising, primarily for donations, but their ad spend was limited to less than $500 per month.

The organization recognized the need to better utilize their Google Ads Grant to drive more awareness and engagement. To achieve this, San Antonio Sports enlisted Noisy Trumpet to help optimize their digital advertising strategy and reach a broader audience.

Idea

Targeted Awareness & Engagement Strategy

To maximize the effectiveness of the Google Grant, we developed a plan aimed at increasing awareness of San Antonio Sports and its programs and events. The objective was to create targeted campaigns that spoke to the different audiences that engage with the organization’s website, including donors, sponsors, teachers, parents, students, and event attendees. Campaigns were tailored to each key content area on the site, with a focus on identifying high-traffic, relevant keywords specific to San Antonio. In addition to optimizing for donations, we also aimed to drive engagement with various forms of content—such as registrations for events, newsletter sign-ups, and other key conversion actions. These optimizations allowed us to refine the strategy, ensuring each audience was reached effectively with messaging relevant to their interests.

Results

$30K Ad Spend Growth Within Google Grant Limits

  • 185% increase in monthly ad spend within the first 30 days of implementing the changes, demonstrating early signs of success and engagement.
